“The COVID-19 pandemic has established a new approach, dictated by the emergency itself, which also had introduced the theme of trust and collaboration between donors and beneficiaries in such a critical phase, where the need for immediate support cannot rely on individual projects only. Philanthropy has changed and, as Ambassador of the United Nations Women For Peace Association, as well as being member of many other associations whose mission is the protection of women and children, I try every day to strengthen my efforts and to ensure that institutions take common actions in support of all those who, during this hard social and economic moment, are suffering the most dramatic consequences of this terrible crisis”. Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies, philanthropist and CEO of the Princess Camilla of Bourbon Charitable Foundation, expressed her regret and the need to take concrete and immediate actions, so that institutions, governments and charities may respond to requests for help which are increasing more and more, being aware that the concepts of philanthropy and charity have evolved. “The United Nations are carrying out an amazing job since extreme domestic violence on women and children has  gone up significantly especially due to lockdown. These abuses have differential and devastating consequences. In the face of this, the United Nations are still leading a battle so that societies stop considering women invisible and excluded in all communities. But I believe we should all do more, the path for equality is still long. Monitoring interventions and the need for systematic coordinated support programs both at national and international level are, of course, essential”, concluded Princess Camilla.
