His Royal Highness Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, direct descendant of King Louis VII who laid the foundation stone of Notre-Dame de Paris, of King Saint Louis and all Capetians who have protected and embellished the Cathedral, expresses his deep sadness for the fire that has devastated the work of his ancestors and generations of French. Notre-Dame de Paris has been protecting France and sharing with it its joys as well as its sorrows for more than eight centuries. Therefore, His Royal Highness calls for a dynastic, national and international union for the reconstruction of the Cathedral and the resurrection of Notre-Dame.
