Paris, 7 December 2024
His Royal Highness Prince Charles of Bourbon of the Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro, accompanied by his wife, Her Royal Highness Princess Camilla, Duchess of Castro, will today attend the official ceremony for the reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. Their Royal Highnesses warmly thank the civil and religious authorities for their invitation to this event.
The restoration of this emblematic building, a symbol of French history and a jewel in the crown of universal heritage, is nearing completion in all its splendour. This achievement testifies to the ability of people to preserve and pass on the treasures inherited from past generations, beyond limits and hardship. The Duke and Duchess of Castro wish to pay tribute to all those who have contributed to this renaissance: craftsmen, architects, workers, patrons and all those who have worked with passion and perseverance on this exceptional project.
Their Royal Highnesses are deeply touched to be able to celebrate this resurrection alongside all those who share the love of this heritage, a testimony to our collective memory and hope for the future.
